QF Radio shares the enthusiasm of all Education City students in the much awaited opening of the brand new ‘Student Center’.  The center, for those who don’t know, boasts of a number of amenities like  a food court, a convenience center, a computer testing area for academic exams, a prayer room, a fitness center, a vast sports complex and a lot more!  The complex is so big, it covers two and a half levels and can easily accommodate 10,000 students!

The center’s ultimate goal is to give students a hub where they can study, relax and mingle with other students from other EC university campuses.

QF Radio is all praises to all the support that Education City students, staff and employees extended in the EC Pakistan Relief efforts.  What the student organizers did in putting up the event and all those people who shared their blessings will greatly help and will go a very long way in easing the sufferings of the families badly affected by the floods in Pakistan.

Don’t fail to catch one of QF Radio’s special features this Ramadan, the ‘What Do You Know About‘ series.  Fahad Al-Khater, one of QF Radio’s energetic hosts will tackle numerous topics about Arab Culture, Islam, and the holy month of Ramadan and how these are viewed and perceived by different people and will try to test people’s familiarity and understanding of these topics.  The series airs at 8:00 AM.

QF Radio in collaboration with Hamad Medical brings you a ‘Ramadan Health Series’ to promote good health and well being throughout the Holy month of Ramadan.  QF Radio’s Saad Al-Hudaifi talks to Dr. Ahmed Badreldeen, head of the Feto Medical Unit of Hamad Medical’s Women’s hospital about the different health concerns facing Muslim faithfuls while fasting during the observance of Ramadan.  Catch this Ramadan special series, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 PM.

Hi! I’m Laura O’Shea, the new QF Radio Community Programme Producer. I’m a Scottish lass born and bred but decided to move to England in 2002 to chase my dreams of becoming involved in the vibrant UK Media Industry. I studied Media Production (TV and Radio) to Masters Degree Level and worked in the radio industry for 3 years before coming to Qatar for a new challenge.

I am a people person and enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am a music person and am a DJ and producer of dance music. I am a ‘radio person’!  I’ve always loved radio for its unique personality; its ability to reach out, connect and provoke through sound, and am so thrilled to find myself here at QF Radio. Being involved in this field you meet people, hear stories, tell stories – growing alongside your listeners, for that reason it’s special. I’m looking forward to telling the Community related stories of Qatar Foundation so much that I think I might just BURST!

Tune in from September to catch my new Community show – ‘The Connection’.  As the name suggests, the programme will connect peoples work, interests, passions, hobbies and make sense of everything that impacts on our daily lives here at Education City and beyond, radiating across Qatar.
