QF Radio, the voice of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Research & Community Development

About QF Radio

Communication In Action - Why QF Radio?

QF Radio is an initiative of Qatar Foundation PR and Marketing Directorate.
It was established to foster a deeper understanding of Qatar Foundation’s mission and vision. QF Radio is uniquely placed to deliver this by capturing and recording many of the activities and events that advance the Qatar Foundation overall mission, in real time, on a daily basis.

Development Stages

March - 9 April 2009 proof of concept stage.
April – December 2009 enhancements include: expanded events coverage, Arabic program making, increase in
on-demand audio and video, development of talent pool and contributors. We welcome your feedback and ideas on development areas. Contact us.

Program Making

Qatar Foundation staff and its partners are encouraged to make programs, or submit ideas for programs.

You don’t have to be ‘technically competent’ as QF Radio staff can assist with editing and recording.

While education, science, technology, research, community development, and culture are key themes of Qatar Foundation, all program ideas will be given equal consideration.

Final approval for programs will be at the discretion of QF Radio.

Please talk to us about your program concept.

Events Coverage

QF Radio is ideally placed to cover Qatar Foundation events from gala openings to distinguished guests visiting.

Contact us to arrange press coverage audio and video footage that we can supply to your organization, and also replay on QF Radio.

The QF Radio crew has audio and video equipment, and is working towards live events coverage, available later in 2009.

Big events, small events, invite QF Radio and we’ll get the message out!

Please contact us about your upcoming events so we can be there.

Interviewing and Media Training

PR and Marketing Directorate offers off-air, media training for Qatar Foundation staff.

With a professional studio and state of the art equipment, QF Radio represents a unique opportunity for staff to become familiar with interviewing and media interaction.

Language – Call for Arabian Speakers

While the predominant language of QF Radio initially is English, QF Radio invites Qatar Foundation staff who are fluent in Arabic to volunteer time to record program features, or to talk to us about your ideas for program making in Arabic language.

QF Radio is committed to working towards a fully optimized bilingual program that reflects the cultural values and heritage of Qatar.

Please contact QF Radio to join the Talent Pool and talk to us about your ideas.

Teachers and Students

QF Radio welcomes teachers and students who wish to have hands on experience of a specialist media unit operating in today’s fact paced global media environment.
Whether your interest is in :

Specialist program making
Equipment and gearing up
In-field interviewing
General technical competency
Storytelling and writing

Please talk to us about your ideas.
We can arrange tours, speakers and small workshops. Minimum 3 weeks prior notice is required.

Advertising

At Proof of Concept stage QF Radio has up to 4 minutes of advertising per hour.
This is for Qatar Foundation member organizations only and is currently at no charge, reviewable in May 2009.

Advertising should reflect the on-air presentation style (documentary) of the station.
Advertising is casual and only one-off campaigns may be booked on a first in first served basis.

Final approval for advertising will be at the discretion of the PR and Marketing Director.
